	NEW RELEASES \| TITLES \| ARTISTS \| SEARCH Tonino Tesei Select Discography Tonino Tesei Preludi Ostinati Tonino Tesei was born in Pollenza (Macerata), Italy, 12 May 1961. He studied piano, comoposition and electroacoustic music at the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro. Thereafter he took advanced classes both at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, where he received a diploma of honor, and at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. His teachers included Aurelio Samori and Franco Donatoni. Tesei has received a number of prizes for his compositions, including: Piano Time 1986 (Rome), International Composers Competition 1989 (Budapest), International Composers Competition 1990 (Budapest-Barcs), Ensemblia 1991 (Mönchengladbach), Alpe Adria 1992 (Trieste), International Competition of Piano Composition 1995 (Beijing), Alea III 2000 (Boston). Tesei's works have been performed by such prominent artists as Alexander Lonquich, Stefano Scodanibbio, Jukka Tiensuu, and others. He has taught in various Conservatories such as in Pesaro, Bari, Trento, and at present Tesei teaches at the Pergolesi conservatory in Fermo, Italy.
