select discography jeffrey roden was born on september 11, 1951 in grand rapids, michigan, and moved to los angeles, california in 1954. he worked as a self taught professional musician in a variety of genres and eventually studied electric and acoustic bass with ray siegel in the mid 1970's. after nearly 25 years of musical life, he began in the the early 1990's to concentrate on composing music which explores and extends the boundaries of the electric bass as a solo instrument. since then, he has peformed in various venues and festivals around los angeles, and has released three cds of music: "mary ann's dream", "songs for susan", and "floor of the forest" on his own big tree music label. his work has been featured in numerous publications such as the wire and bass player magazine and has received airplay on radio stations nationally and internationally. jeffrey roden's website is located at http://www.thebigtreemusic.com/.
